Ideation is the creative engine of design thinking. Effective ideation requires creating a judgment-free environment where all ideas are welcomed. Techniques like brainstorming, mind mapping, SCAMPER, and the Crazy 8s exercise help teams generate high volumes of diverse ideas quickly. The goal is not to find the right answer immediately, but to explore the full possibility space before converging on the most promising directions to develop.
From Prototype to Product: Testing and Iterating
Prototyping and testing are where ideas meet reality. Prototypes can range from rough paper sketches to functional digital mockups, depending on what aspects of the idea need validation. The critical principle is building with enough fidelity to get meaningful feedback, but no more — rapid, low-cost prototypes enable faster learning cycles.
